Historic Green gets a home

Today was an exciting day for the Historic Green staff as we were busy preparing our new office space at the Metropolitan Energy Center’s Project Living Proof House in Kansas City. The home is a demonstration of the KCP&L Smart Grid, which is a combination of on-site energy generation, advanced switches and capacitors, automated meter reading, and other smart technologies that allow for real-time monitoring and management of energy usage. The site’s landscaping is a pilot project of the Sustainable Sites Initiative, a voluntary set of guidelines and benchmarks for sustainable land design, construction and maintenance practices.
We’re so thrilled about the potential projects this exciting collaboration brings. We’ll post some pictures of our new office space soon!
